Over the past century hundreds of photos have been taken which relate to the Field Museum’s Hopewell collection. The images available here include photographs from Moorehead’s excavation in the late 1800’s, professional artifact photos taken for various projects, and photos of exhibit installations from throughout the museum’s history. Of all of the Hopewell photos, around half have been converted to a digital format, which are available through our historic excavation albums, the collection of images from The Hopewell Mound Group: Its People and Their Legacy, and through this gallery. With additional funding support, we hope to complete digitization of the remainder of the Hopewell photos at the Field Museum. Please be aware that there may be errors and inconsistencies in the image data. We are in the process of fixing those errors.
